Three final versions of the 2013 Ford Mustang GT entirely designed and built by women, which were announced previously, are now ready and submitted for voting that has to determine a winning project.

High Gear

The women-designed Mustang is a cooperation of Ford and SEMA (Specialty Equipment and Market Association). The point is, Ford presents its Mustang GT to a team of women who will modify the design of a car completely from beginning to end. The project is led by the SEMA Businesswomen’s Network.
The idea of the project is to encourage more women to work in the automotive industry and give more abilities to the existing talented female designers.

The names of the final design concepts are the following: Fast Metal, High Gear and Chromatic.
The Fast Metal Mustang GT is a work of Theresa Contreras. Its stylish two-colored finish symbolizes the pony car’s power and raw speed.

The other two Mustang designs were produced by Jennifer Seely who is a Ford employee and an SBN member.

The High Gear Mustang is a luxury concept; Jennifer says that she took inspiration from couture garments, jewelry and architecture.

The last Chromatic Mustang represents the concept of a pop culture pony car. Modern arts, such as street art, gave the inspiration to Seely when she was creating this futuristic Mustang design.

The final result can be seen on October 30 when it will be displayed at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. After that, the concept car will be sold on eBay and the earned money will be given to the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund.
