A unique one-of-a kind edition of 2013 Ford Mustang GT Coupe called “Red Tails” has been developed by the Blue Oval’s design and engineering teams. Its unusual design was inspired by African American P-51 Mustang fighter airplanes during Worl War II.
Being done in polished aluminum nonproduction paint the "Red Tails" 2013 Mustang GT represents atail cues.

As you can see, this car would be like a pearl for a serious collector. The outstanding creation has come under the hammer at the Eagles charity auction which took place on the 26th of July within the framework of the Experimental Aircraft Association AirVenture Oshkosh, Wis. All the money received after selling the luxurious car has been donated to the EAA program for Young Eagles which is known known to have provided free introductory flights since 1992 and counts more that 1.6 mln. young participants. This program is helping, inspiring and motivating our next generation of aviators, innovators and leaders.
During EAA visitors could see the latest innovations of the automobile technology at the Ford Hangar, as well as industry’s classics at the Cruisin’ Legends. Ford activities presented the attendees top-tier entertainment and breathtaking interactive components.
Edsel B. Ford II, the member of the FoMoCo board, claimed that “Red Tails” successfully combines recognizable symbols of the honorable American history with innovative design elaborated by the company’s design and engineering teams. Edsel B. Ford II also added that he feels great proudness of their supporting the Young Eagles organization and EEA.
All-in-all Ford vehicles have collectively gathered more than $1.5 million for the Young Eagles organization.
The "Red Tails" edition of the 2013 Mustang is not the only one created one-of-a-kind. There were four other Mustangs designed by Ford for the EAA Young Eagles Auction within the past few years, namely: Mustang AV8R (2008), AV-X10 “Dearborn Doll” (2009), SR-71 “Blackbird” Mustang (2010) and "Blue Angels" Mustang (2011). The latter has celebrated 100 years of US naval aviation.
The list of sponsors who support the “Red Tails” includes Ford Racing, Roush Performance Products, Takata, Kay Graphics, Forgiato, 3dCarbon and Creations n’ Chrome.
