The CEO of Ford, Jim Farley, has recommended the production of a street-legal variant of the GT3, which we find favorable. As you watch the GT3-spec Mustang make thrilling noises while tearing through Sebring, consider this idea.
Pause whatever you are doing at the moment. Turn up the volume to the maximum and enjoy the melodious sound produced by the naturally aspirated V-8 engine. Ford CEO Jim Farley recently shared a video on Twitter that displays the upcoming Mustang GT3 race car racing around the Sebring circuit. The audio is remarkable.
This is the first glimpse we have of the factory GT3 Mustang, and it's audio, since Ford declared its intention to release six new racing variations of the S650 Mustang in September. Although the GT3 is not set to be officially launched until the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2024, Ford is already creating excitement for it.
The GT3 version of Mustang is currently being developed in collaboration with Ford Performance and Multimatic. It will be propelled by an updated version of the Coyote V-8 engine, bored to 5.4 liters. The pictures reveal that the Mustang has undergone significant and essential modifications required to compete in the 24-hour races such as Daytona and Le Mans.
The Mustang GT3 has an imposing appearance, with massive fenders that encase robust racing tires, and the bodywork visible appears to be made of lightweight carbon fiber. The front has an extremely aggressive lip, and the rear has a large diffuser. The rear wing is a real head-turner as it is attached to the rear pillars of the car rather than the rear decklid. Although the GT3 is a purebred racing car, Ford highlights that it shares its DNA with the upcoming Mustang Dark Horse.
However, the exciting aspect of the tweets is Farley's second tweet. He inquired whether his followers believed that Ford should produce a street-legal edition of the GT3. It's clear that we all concur, and the answer is an emphatic yes. We implore Mr. Farley to dispatch the first model to Car and Driver's office as soon as possible.
