Compared to the 2023 model year, there is a slight difference for the 2024 Ford Mustang with regard to the rear parking sensors feature. In the previous year's model, this feature was optional on the EcoBoost trim as part of the High Package (101A equipment group) and standard on the EcoBoost Premium and higher trims. However, for the 2024 model year, rear parking sensors will come as standard equipment. This change is noteworthy for those interested in purchasing a base model that did not include this feature previously.
While gaining the rear parking sensors, the 2024 Ford Mustang will also lose several optional packages, namely the Stealth Appearance Package, Coastal Limited Package, and the Ice White Appearance Package, as well as the AM radio functionality. On the other hand, Ford has introduced a new Reduced Capacity Amplifier option for the B&O Sound System that has 12 total speakers, including an in-trunk subwoofer. This option is only available if there is a semiconductor chip shortage, which is not the case currently. It is an optional feature for the EcoBoost Premium and GT Premium models and comes as standard on the Dark Horse, the top-of-the-line model.
Apart from a new mirror-mounted USB port and increased power, the 2024 Ford Mustang provides more features and improvements than its predecessor. However, these enhancements will come with a higher price tag, as reported by Ford Authority. Across all trim levels, the 2024 Mustang is more expensive than the current S550 model.
