Ford Racing unveiled the 2013 Ford Cobra Jet Mustang at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show in Orlando, Florida, introducing the latest evolution of its factory-built drag racing machine designed specifically for NHRA Stock and Super Stock competition.
Engineered for straight-line performance, the new Cobra Jet features a lighter body structure, an electric power steering system, and a revised suspension setup optimized for high-speed drag strip action. The race-focused Mustang is offered with two versions of Ford’s 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine.
The standard naturally aspirated version already delivers serious performance thanks to a specialized Cobra Jet induction system. For those seeking even more power, Ford Racing also offers a high-performance variant equipped with a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger, CNC port-matched cylinder heads, and a revised intake manifold.
Production of the 2013 Cobra Jet Mustang is strictly limited to just 50 units, adding exclusivity to its already impressive performance credentials. Pricing starts at $85,490 for the naturally aspirated model, while the supercharged version begins at approximately $93,000—significantly less than the previous year’s model.
Built exclusively for racing enthusiasts and competitive drag racers, the Cobra Jet continues Ford Racing’s legacy of producing some of the most capable factory drag cars ever offered.
