2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Returns with New Styling and Laguna Seca Upgrades

Ford brought back the highly praised Mustang Boss 302 for the 2013 model year, introducing fresh styling updates and new features while keeping the car’s track-focused performance intact. After earning strong reviews in 2012, the Boss 302 and the limited-production Laguna Seca edition both returned with several visual enhancements unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

One of the most noticeable additions is the return of the classic “hockey stick” side graphics inspired by the original 1970 Boss 302. Ford also introduced a new School Bus Yellow paint option, paying tribute to Parnelli Jones’ championship-winning Trans-Am race car from the early 1970s.

The Laguna Seca version receives exclusive styling touches, including Sterling Gray accents, unique badging, gray mirror caps, a revised rear spoiler, and distinctive two-tone wheels. Ford also updated the interior cross-brace with a gray finish to match the exterior details.

For 2013, the Boss 302 lineup adopts the refreshed Mustang front-end design with a larger grille, revised front splitter, functional hood extractors, and standard HID headlights. Functional fog lamp openings can now be removed during track use to improve brake and engine cooling.

At the rear, smoked LED taillights and a gloss-black center panel give the car a more aggressive appearance while continuing the retro-inspired design theme seen across the updated Mustang lineup.

Inside the cabin, the biggest addition is Ford’s SYNC infotainment system, bringing Bluetooth connectivity, USB audio support, emergency assistance features, and vehicle health monitoring to the Boss 302 for the first time.

Under the hood, Ford left the Boss 302’s proven performance setup unchanged, allowing drivers to continue enjoying the naturally aspirated V8 and sharp handling that made the car one of the standout modern Mustangs. The Laguna Seca edition also retains its race-inspired suspension and track-oriented upgrades for enthusiasts seeking an even more focused driving experience.
