One of the biggest strengths of the Ford Mustang is how easily it welcomes aftermarket upgrades. That’s exactly why the 2012 SEMA Show felt like a playground, packed with impressive Mustang tuning projects. Among them, Ringbrothers introduced its own creation—the Switchback—which immediately stood out.
Naturally, the most significant changes happened under the hood. The stock 5.0-liter V8 received a serious boost with a ProCharger supercharger system and intercooler, complemented by Flowmaster headers, Hose Candy detailing, and high-quality Royal Purple fluids. A Flowmaster 409S dual exhaust system was also added, pushing the Mustang GT’s output from 430 horsepower up to a massive 575 horsepower.
To match the added performance, the exterior was reworked with a more aggressive edge. The car features a carbon-fiber body kit, a front splitter, and a two-piece modular carbon-fiber hood with interchangeable inserts. It’s finished in waterborne paint and accented by aluminum side vents. The stance is completed with staggered one-piece wheels—19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear—wrapped in Nitto tires sized 275/35R19 and 315/35R20.
Inside, the upgrades are subtle but purposeful. The rear seats were removed to save weight, while a custom leather interior adds a refined, bespoke touch.
All in all, this build transforms the Mustang GT into a far more aggressive and performance-focused machine—closer to what many enthusiasts feel it should have been straight from the factory.
